'Treescape' was taken near to Eldon Hill, Castleton, Derbyshire. This stark, striking landscape is ancient and elemental and the trees surrounding the early lead mines and limestone quarries are a fundamental part of the geography. The name Eldon Hill and its earlier name 'Elvedon', derive from local mythology that the many potholes and caves here were home to the elves and there were 'elves on t'hill' - hence 'Eldon Hill'.
